Proper and effective packaging is key. How can you make your product (YOU) stand out?

Choose your words carefully and acurately. Using words that will interest the companies you apply to will grab their attention. That's why you need an effective résumé.

Skills can be grouped into three categories:
Skills learned through past experience and education (knowledge-based skills): computer skills, marketing skills, communication skills, management skills, product development, etc.

Skills you bring with you to any job ( transferable or portable skills): customer focus, organizational skills, writig skills, coordination, team leader, problem solving, budgets &numbers, time management, etc.

Personal traits, the things that make you who you are: quick learner, self motivated, friendly, organized, good attitude, good judgement, flexible, creative, independent, etc.

Divide a sheet of paper into three colums and lable them according to the three types of skills listed above. List your skills in the appropriate column. Now you have something to work with when putting together an effective résumé. You still have some work to do before you can take your product to market, but at least you are off to a great start!
